I had the pleasure of meeting both Terri and John. My 11-year-old Yorkie died in May of 2001. I knew that canine death was coming due to the problem being an autoimmune disease. I started shopping for a good breeder and saw Terri's URL. I sent her a note and we started corresponding about the acquisition of a quality pet. Terri said that she would have a puppy for me but that she would not ship the dog. If I would fly to CA, she would sell me a puppy. Well I decided to take vacation and pick up Alikat. In the interim
Terri had open-heart surgery. I had never spoken to Terri and therefore I decided to call her the night before her surgery. I felt that I just had to hear her voice in case something happened. We spoke and she told me that even if something happened to her in surgery, I would still get the puppy as promised. I never addressed the dog issue and therefore I felt that this was so selfless of her to assure her commitment even in time of potential crisis. In any case Terri survived the surgery and I could not fly out because the flight was scheduled 9/14/2001. Terri saved the puppy for me for a month and then kept me for 4 days at her home so that I could get acquainted with her, John and the dogs. John was quite dependent on Terri at the time even though he still cooked. He had owned a restaurant in Atlantic City prior to retirement. I think that it was God's will that John was not left without her. Terri LOVED this breed with her heart, soul and finances. She was not greedy when it came to selling the dogs and she made sure above all things that she represented the rights and health of these tiny creatures. I can only wish that the people who have her breeding will do the same and pass on the genetics of her sturdy little dogs.
